What are highlight videos?
Highlight videos are 3-4 minute compilations that display your skills on the field/court. They showcase your abilities and potential to recruiters and coaches efficiently. They are like visual resumes, demonstrating your key strengths and achievements.
How do you make a highlight video?
There are 3 simple steps to creating a highlight video:
- Gather your source footage. High-quality videos of your games. Coaches and recruiters prefer a higher vantage point; the court/field should be visible and all players can be seen without blocking other players.
Nico’s way: You can upload video files to a portal I will send you or send me links to full games/video highlights! I’ll download them for you. - Select your best clips. Using timestamps (e.g. 0:37-1:32), select the highlights you’d like featured in the video. In a video editor, you can cut the videos down to just the most important highlights.
- Organize your clips and add music. Put your best highlights first to capture recruiters’ attention. Once you have 2-4 minutes of clips, you can add music that fits your style.
I’ll be happy to do this for you, and as a special treat, I’ll include graphics that include the information most athletes forget!
