Making a Fun Biography Video Project for 4th Graders
I teamed up with a 4th grade class at Poland Middle School, where I am the Communications Director, to make a fun biography project for our community! I knew the video would have to be engaging and feature the talented work of the kids without being too much like a presentation. It also had to be fun for adults but relatable to the kids… So, why not make it a game?!
I based my video idea off of a short TV commercial for Pokémon that airs before the commercial break. The short segment asks its young viewers to “Name that Pokémon” based off of the silhouette shown. When the commercials end, it reveals the answer to the question it poses.
I used Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop to generate the slides for the game. After that, it was just incorporating the fun facts the students gathered to make a fun video our community loved!
